Memory verse of the week

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.
— Psalm 23:1-3

Question to consider: If the Lord is my shepherd, what’s my obligation to those I lead?

Practice: Identify two practices of shepherding you could implement in one of these areas: (1) raising your kids, (2) leading a team at work, (3) leading a volunteer team at church, and (4) coaching a kid’s sports team.

Hello friend,

God is our shepherd, and here is Psalm 23- The Message Version. Meditate in God's word.

1-3 God, my shepherd!
    I don’t need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
you find me quiet pools to drink from.
True to your word,
you let me catch my breath
and send me in the right direction.

4 Even when the way goes through
    Death Valley,
I’m not afraid
when you walk at my side.
Your trusty shepherd’s crook
    makes me feel secure.

5 You serve me a six-course dinner
right in front of my enemies.
You revive my drooping head;
    my cup brims with blessing.

6 Your beauty and love chase after me
    every day of my life.
I’m back home in the house of God
for the rest of my life.

My family and I are headed to Mexico to build homes with Friends Christian School. Pray for us. I will be praying for you as you gather this Sunday to make much of Jesus as a community. See you soon.
You are blessed. Have a great weekend.

***The purpose of tithing is to remind us that God is the supplier of everything and it teaches us to always put God first in our lives. The word "tithe" means tenth or ten percent. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income isn't merely giving something to God, it's giving back what was His, to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from Him. May you be blessed abundantly as you give generously and cheerfully with all your heart!
