Memory verse of the week
“Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.”
Hello friend,
I hope you are doing well. We have been on quite a journey since the year started, and I hope that the question of 'Who am I becoming?' is one you are thinking about often. As we continue this journey of Spiritual Formation, here are some reminders: this is not a sprint, and our goal is not to be experts in the Altars of Availability; we want to make sure we are spending time with Jesus, becoming like him, and doing as he did. So,
Start where you are, not where you should be: Unrealistic goals leave us discouraged and disillusioned.
Think subtraction, not addition. Have margins in your life.
You should take a balanced approach- equal focus on the practices.
Take into account your personality and spiritual temperament.
Take into account your season of life and stage of discipleship.
There will be challenges and obstacles, but process through the resistance you may be experiencing. The Holy Spirit and community is your guide.
Do this in community- invite your church family to journey along.
There is no formation without repetition. Change is all about consistency.
God is at work around us. The invitation is to pay attention to his work and join in. This Sunday, we will chat about the practice of generosity.
I am looking forward to seeing you and fellowshipping. Come early at 9:19 am for donuts, tea, and coffee, and connect with others.
Enjoy your weekend.
Pastor Teddy Omondi

***The purpose of tithing is to remind us that God is the supplier of everything and it teaches us to always put God first in our lives. The word "tithe" means tenth or ten percent. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income isn't merely giving something to God, it's giving back what was His, to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from Him. May you be blessed abundantly as you give generously and cheerfully with all your heart!
